BIGBANG’s TAEYANG has been keeping his No.1 place on music charts, despite a strong attack from Maroon 5’s new song.

“Eyes, Nose, Lips”, the title track of TAEYANG’s second full-length album “RISE” which was released on the 3 this month at 0 o’clock, has been on the top place until the 18 in the morning, 16 days after the release, on the chart of Korea’s biggest music-streaming website Melon. The song is still in high ranks in other music charts of Mnet, Genie, Soribada, Monkey 3, Bugs, Olleh Music, and Daum Music.

“Eyes, Nose, Lips” swept No.1 places on real-time charts of 10 major music-streaming websites upon its release, while all the songs included in the new album are placed in top ranks on some charts. Plus, the song has also taken top places not only on real-time charts but also on weekly music charts of Mnet, NAVER Music, Daum Music, Genie, Olleh Music, Cyworld, and Gaon Chart.

Notably, TAEYANG’s “Eyes, Nose, Lips” is competing with “Maps”, the first single of American pop band Maroon 5’s fith full-length album “V” that was released on the 17 this month. “Maps” is enjoying a big popularity on Korean charts, taking No.1 places on six music charts: Mnet, Bugs, Olleh, Soribada, Genie, and Daum Music.

TAEYANG himself took part in composing and writing “Eyes, Nose, Lips”. TAEYANG’s sentimental but powerful vocal and truthful music has received favorable review from music fans.

Meanwhile, TAEYANG’s second full-length album “RISE” took the 112th place on Billboard’s album chart “Billboard 200”, which is the highest-ever record for Korean male singer.
